Flexible rates
In addition to the form and content of tutoring sessions, the price is tailor-made for your situation as well. I use a flexible scale based your income and spending power. By having students with higher incomes pay a bit more, I am able to keep my rates affordable for students with lower incomes.
How to determine your rate
First, add up the yearly incomes of all the adults in your household and subtract taxes and healthcare costs. This is your net household income. Your net household income determines your starting point for calculating your hourly rate, as illustrated below:
net household income
hourly rate online
€18.000
€28
€30.000
€39
€45.000
€51
€65.000
€64
hourly rate in person

€77
Factors that shift your rate slightly to the left include:
little or no savings
(student) debt
more household members unable to do paid work than are able to
1/3 or more of income spent on rent
Factors that shift your rate slightly to the right include:
significant savings
owns stocks, shares, properties
most household members able to do paid work
passive income
After placing yourself on the scale and making adjustments based on factors such as the ones listed above, you will end up with an hourly rate somewhere between €28 and €77. You may be in between the example rates listed above. That’s completely okay. I require no proof or justification for the rate you choose, but I am happy to help you decide what best suits your situation.
A trial lesson is 50% of whichever rate applies to you.
To teach at a location more than 30 minutes away from Dapperplein in Amsterdam Oost, I charge a small travel fee. I do not teach in person outside of Amsterdam for lessons at this time.
If your household income is below 18k or €28 is too high for you for other reasons, please contact me and I will see if I can accommodate you.
